In 2008 the eyes of the world will be on China, and more specifically on the Olympic Games in Beijing. And thus it's a very important year to put the spotlight on the Tibetan freedom struggle. Another reason we want to keep up our bicycle campaigning is because it's obvious that some urgent measures need to be taken to put to a halt the global ecological degradation and climate change. And bicycles are an important part of the solution. In February this year, when writing the introduction to the project this little phrase "until it reaches everyone's doorstep" came up... little did we know that 5 months later this would become a dire reality in Europe: unseen floodings and unusually cold temperatures turned July 2007 into a true nightmare for hundreds of thousands of people across the British Isles. While at the same time an extreme heatwave claimed many hundreds of lives and destroyed thousands of acres of forest and many villages across Central and Southeastern Europe from June until Mid-August. 

Phase 2 of this project will set off in early June, and head from (hopefully not just) the U.K. to Serbia; a new website may appear shortly.
For now we strongly recommend to keep on using your bicycles as much as possible and to look into simple, ecological solutions for solving technical problems.
